Clarksville

90th Anniversary Celebration

The Clarksville Garden Club is the oldest Garden Club in Tennessee, established through the efforts of Mrs. Lula B. Epperson and Mrs. Henry Lupton.

Mrs. Austin Peay, who later became the First Lady of Tennessee, was one of the charter members.

The Birthday Party Tea, was held May 10, 2011, at the beautiful home of Sherri Harvill.

There were about 100 women that attended, many wearing lovely hats, that they either made themselves or bought, to honor the ladies of yesterday.

We received a Resolution from the State of Tennessee, signed by members of the government, nicely framed for us.

Copies of the history of the club were also given out to our guests.

Lovely flower arrangements designed by our members were placed around the home.
